Toll Plaza incident in Karnataka
In a tragic incident in Bidadi town, Ramanagara, Karnataka, a toll plaza employee lost his life due to an attack by a mob on Sunday night.
The police have reported that the attack was allegedly triggered by the mob's frustration over a delay in opening the boom barrier. The victim, identified as Pawan Kumar, was a 26-year-old toll plaza employee.
Another colleague of his, named Manjunath, was seriously injured in the assault by unidentified individuals. The authorities have taken immediate action by registering a First Information Report (FIR) at the Bidadi police station, and Superintendent of Police Karthik Reddy has assured that the investigation is underway. The accused individuals are believed to be from Bengaluru, and the police are working to gather more information regarding the incident.
According to the police, a group of four individuals was traveling in a car towards Mysuru on Sunday night at approximately 10 PM. As they approached the toll plaza, an altercation ensued regarding the delayed opening of the toll booth barrier. The situation escalated into a physical fight, prompting local residents to intervene and bring an end to the brawl.
Following the altercation, the four accused individuals stopped their vehicle a short distance away from the toll plaza. They waited until midnight when Pawan Kumar and his colleague emerged from the toll booth to have dinner. It was at this point that the tragic incident occurred.
